A little more about me (and Life of Noveltea)
I am an artist, writer, and photographer. I’m also a late-diagnosed autistic woman with chronic illness. The American Dream didn’t work for me, so I’m building something better. No more traditional housing, rigid schedules, or futile job hunts. Instead, I’m exploring how to live on the road in a way that accommodates my needs.
By embracing slow travel, budgeting, and focusing on what brings me joy I am learning to recover from burnout, pace myself, and give myself stability.
This blog exists to document my great adventure.
Why slow travel
Traveling slowly creates fewer transitions, fewer decisions, and fewer demands on a nervous system that’s often overwhelmed by sensory input. Centering myself in my routines wherever I go, staying longer, and moving less helps me create predictability. It supports my mental and emotional wellbeing.
Slow living isn’t my aesthetic. It’s my accommodation.
Disability, visibility, and honesty
I write openly about disability because someone needs to start the conversation. Many neurodivergent women are diagnosed late or not at all. Chronic illness and disability are hard to navigate in our society. Medical care is financially out of reach for many (myself included). Instead of being able to access support, we find ourselves struggling to make ends meet in a system that is failing us.
If you are trying to build a life that works with your unique mind and body instead of against it, you aren’t alone.
Art, beauty, and making a living
Creativity is my spirituality. It gives me purpose and direction. It also fosters community, giving us a way to connect through beauty. I often talk about my creative projects here, and the ability to sell my work helps sustain me financially.
Practicality and beauty meet here. Mundane routines and minimalist budgets alongside art, comfort, and quiet moments.

It’s my hope that through sharing my experiences someone else feels seen, understood, and empowered to meet their own needs.
My writing is a reflection of my lived experience as a late-diagnosed autistic person with chronic illness. I freely share what helps me manage daily life, but nothing I share should be taken as medical advice.
